Synopsis: Crow tries stealing food from fox, ends up impoverishing them both.

Comments: Non funny text opening, to provide for contrast. Color, but some of the available footage is black and white. Yodeling fox. Foxes and crows are both carnivores. Shadow shot. Columbia loved unusual background angles. Gentle skiing chase sequences... Crashing off camera saves on animation. Crow's initials are E.S.; get it, like escrow? Yeah, it doesn't really go anywhere. Bowling scorecard. Ghost snow fox looks great. Super hot foot. Crow destroys fox's food, ends up being saved by fox; fox accepts the paltry food crow has to offer instead of eating the crow. Sugar kept in a safe, and paranoid about it.

The backgrounds are great, and the character designs are solid, but the lack of storytelling ability really inhibits this. I also think the audio (audio quality and the style of music) also causes problems.

  1. You've hit the typical Fox and Crow problem: these are potentially great characters rarely used to potential. (There are exceptions, though... ROOM AND BORED later this year is at least a little better-realized.)

  2. Howdy,

Is this the one where the crow says "More corn" as he pretends to be hurt or sick? I've been trying to track that particular cartoon done for a long time. Or was it a different series all together that I'm thinking of?

  3. (There was a comment from someone that I got via email, but Blogger was read only when I went to the site; the comment no longer appears; in answer to it, I don't believe this is the cartoon where crow asks for more corn while pretending to be hurt or sick. I'm about 3 months ahead on writing the entries, so it's been awhile since I watched it, but I don't think crow pretends to be hurt in this.)
