Synopsis: Rooster learns he needs to pay attention to blackout preparedness.


















Comments: This introduces the concept of a blackout room to me; I'd just assumed people had blackout window treatments everywhere, but of course having a single room makes sense. Very much a preparedness propaganda piece, more than the regular players I saw as a kid. There's a horrible screech of "shut up". Blinds on the moon. Bra joke. Gandy and Sourpuss are not the main characters; the rooster is. The air raid wardens march a lot like limp wristed Nazis. This is a concertedly uninspiring cartoon. "Fifth columnist" ocmes up; what with the upcoming WB cartoon, I wonder if there was a big push on that when these started production.
